BASHO KHAR, PAKISTAN — On May 28, 2026, the Akhundian Foundation Pakistan successfully conducted a One-Day Free Medical Camp serving 350 patients across two locations in the Basho Valley region. The camp was held simultaneously at Middle School Basho Khar and Middle School Sultan Abad, bringing essential healthcare services directly to communities with limited access to medical facilities.

Bringing Healthcare to the Doorstep

The camp drew patients from across the valley, with 200 individuals consulting doctors at Middle School Basho Khar and an additional 150 patients attended at Middle School Sultan Abad. Of the total 350 patients seen, 100 were male, 150 were female, and 100 were children — reflecting the broad community need that motivated the initiative.

The camp addressed a wide spectrum of medical conditions. Gastroenterological and pediatric cases each accounted for 100 patients, while hypertension, dermatological concerns, and miscellaneous ailments were each seen in 50 patients. Every attendee received care at no cost.

Comprehensive Services Provided

Dedicated volunteer doctors and medical staff delivered a full range of services throughout the day, including:

Free general medical check-ups and consultations

Free medicines prescribed by attending doctors

Free Blood Pressure (BP) and Blood Sugar Random (BSR) screening

Health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy living

Referral of patients requiring specialist or secondary/tertiary care

“Every individual, regardless of their economic circumstances, deserves access to quality healthcare. This camp is a reflection of our commitment to building a healthier and stronger community — together for a healthier tomorrow.”

Community Impact

Remote mountain communities in Gilgit-Baltistan often face significant barriers to healthcare access, including distance, infrastructure challenges, and financial constraints. By hosting the camp at two school sites familiar to community members, the Akhundian Foundation ensured maximum reach and accessibility for patients of all ages.

The foundation expressed sincere gratitude to all volunteers, doctors, and community members whose participation made the event possible. Their dedication exemplifies the spirit of collective responsibility that drives the foundation’s mission.
