The District Health Officer (DHO) of Ghanche, Dr. Muhammad Kazim, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Akhondian Foundation Pakistan for being among the first responders during the recent floods in Kondus and Haldi, where more than 50 houses were destroyed. The Foundation distributed food, held free medical camps, provided medicines, helped restore the Kondus Medical Center, and donated an ultrasound machine to the area’s only Lady Health Worker to support women in labor. District Health Officer Ghanche Honors Akhondian Foundation Pakistan for Flood Relief Efforts
Ghanche, Gilgit-Baltistan , September 01, 2025— The Office of the District Health Officer, District Ghanche, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Akhondian Foundation Pakistan in recognition of its outstanding role as one of the first responders during the recent floods in the district.
The disaster caused severe damage in several areas, with the villages of Kondus and Haldi among the hardest hit, where more than 50 houses were destroyed. Akhondian Foundation Pakistan promptly mobilized its volunteers, donors, and resources to provide emergency relief and assistance to the affected families.
In addition to distributing food supplies, the Foundation organized several free medical camps, provided essential medicines, and supported the restoration of the Medical Center in Kondus, which the flood had destroyed. To strengthen healthcare services in the area, the Foundation also provided an ultrasound machine to the local Lady Health Worker, the only health professional serving the community, enabling her to assist women in labor and meet critical healthcare needs.
Dr. Muhammad Kazim, District Health Officer of District Ghanche, personally presented the award of appreciation to the Foundation. He praised and thanked Akhondian Foundation’s volunteers, donors, and administration for their unmatched dedication and lifesaving services during this difficult time.
