Kondus, District Ghanche – The restoration of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Center in Kondus has been successfully completed through the collaborative efforts of the Health Department Ghanche, Akhundian Foundation Pakistan, and UNICEF Pakistan. The facility was officially inaugurated on August 7, 2025, by the Additional Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The recent floods in Kondus not only affected hundreds of residents but also caused severe damage to the local MCH Center, depriving the community of essential primary healthcare services. In response to this urgent need, the Health Department Ghanche, Akhundian Foundation Pakistan, and UNICEF Pakistan took immediate action to restore the center.
As part of the restoration project, Akhundian Foundation Pakistan donated medicines to the facility to ensure that mothers and children in the region once again have access to timely and quality healthcare.
Representatives from the Health Department, the Foundation, and other relevant organizations attended the inauguration ceremony. The restoration was hailed as a significant milestone for the community and a shining example of collective commitment to humanitarian service.
